One month end not too long ago, we looked at our bank account. There was still some money in it! Who had we forgotten to pay?
And then it dawned on us – the kids were off the payroll! They had auto-magically become self funding, functional adults of this world. Our job was done. Well as parents its never totally done, but this was as close as we were ever going to get to total freedom for a while.
So what now?
Play some golf? Join a crochet club? Move to the coast/mountains/desert?
Not our style.
We – a Saffa [Keith] & a New Zealander [Dianne] – had met traveling around Europe in the late 80’s. The travel bug had never really left us. The more we traveled, the more we realized we had lots more to see and experience.
Covid-19 had rearranged the norms, and it was now not only possible, but also acceptable, to do lots of stuff online instead of in person.
So we rented out the house, got rid of lots of “stuff”, put the rest into a storage facility, and headed out 🙂
